Buy vs rent

Buy-vs-rent analysis compares ownership costs, rent levels, expected holding period, and liquidity risk.

Core tradeoff

Buying can protect against rent inflation and build equity, but it adds transaction costs, maintenance, financing risk, and less flexibility.

Market signal

When rent is low relative to purchase price, renting may be financially stronger. When rent is high and ownership costs are stable, buying can become attractive.

Practical rule

Use DomusEmpire to compare rent, price per m2, city liquidity, and expected holding period before deciding.
